The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art opens a ground-breaking exhibition of First Nations Erotica, Wednesday, September 25, 2013, with works by 30 mid-career to master artists from the Northwest Coast. Co-curated by Haida Artist Gwaai Edenshaw and Curator/Programmer, Kwiaahwah Jones, RezErect: Native Erotica presents a fresh, playful, provocative insight into native sensuality and sexuality. Works reflect inspiration from diverse sources including: oral histories and creation stories, ancient songs of love and heartbreak, dance and ceremony, arranged marriages and canoe making.
