Roger LaFrenière: LaFrenière variations
Opening Thursday, October 21st – 6:00pm
Roger LaFrenière's work has generally sought to describe the plain in all its grandeur, in its majesty and delicacy, in its subtleties and, of course, in the power of its energy.
For this set of paintings in his exhibition entitled "Variations," the artist drew from his memory to extract a configuration representing the essence of the plains. He set out to repeat the same landscape 12 times, to capture the quality of each season and to capture the varied luminosity of the landscape impacted by daily and seasonal changes.
The trip to the plains offered by artist Roger LaFrenière takes place throughout the four seasons at three different times of the day: morning, midday and evening. This meticulous work is therefore translated into twelve paintings, three for each season.
A beautiful exhibition that will make you travel through time in harmony with the nature.
