See Me. Hear Me. 2022

Three local artists are on a mission to bring awareness about the healing power of the arts. Deborah Millward (Creative Healing), Lauren W (Whimsy Earth) and myself, Kim Webb (Roots and Wings Studios) are part of an artist residency at Sparrow Artspace during the month of May, 2022.

See me. Hear me. is a creative collaboration of artists sharing work relating to the CAMH 2022 mental health awareness theme: EMPATHY. Through the gallery, workshops and events, local artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work while bringing awareness about how creativity can help us heal, connect, understand and support each other in challenging times.

Join us from 11am-6pm to view the exhibition See Me. Hear Me., featuring the work of 25 local artists.  Some of the artists will be in attendance.

May 14 at 7 - 9pm Healing Power of Words with Wakefield Brewster and Krystle Robyn

From 2-4pm, there will be a drop-in workshop Artful: Creating connection through playful art-making by Blackbird Healing Arts (our neighbour from upstairs). In a relaxed environment we will play and explore with various art materials, seeking connection with ourselves, and connection in community.  Participants will be invited to create two Artist Trading Cards using collage and mixed media. One card will be to keep for yourself and the other will be offered to trade with another. This is an invitation to engage your imagination and spark your creativity.
