Shannon Ford, "Mystique's Sharif," nd
84" x 79"
Internationally acclaimed Canadian artist SHANNON FORD’s own Mangalarga Marchador colt, Regente of Canada has given his whinny of approval to the 84x79” showpiece featuring CMK Arabian stallion Mystique’s Sharif of Fairview Arabian Stud in her new collection of contemporary original acrylic and gemstone paintings. Shannon has incorporated diamond dust, pipestone, rainbow moonstones, and mother of pearl into this beautiful painting.
Shannon's newest collection featuring horses and bears will be displayed from September 24 to October 12th at The Lloyd Gallery 3rd Solo Exhibition for Shannon.
Everyone is welcome to attend the official opening on Saturday, September 24th from 2-5pm.
Joining the art collectors inside the gallery are Dawn and Ken MacRae of D-BarK Ranch in Oliver BC with their very special Quarter Horse, Smokin Lynx Olena. It is rumoured that Smokey himself is helping Shannon Ford finish a show painting, diligently adding his signature hoof-print of approval. A number of Shannon Ford’s equine paintings in this collection are inspired by the Magnificent CMK Arabians of Fairview Arabian Stud in Okanagan Falls, bred by Dr. David Ward of Three Valleys Vet Service who will be attending the opening, as well as exceptional horses at the MacRae's D-BarK Ranch in Oliver, BC.

Shannon Ford at D Bar K Ranch
Shannon enjoys the idea of capturing the soul and spirit of well-loved horses; she receives many requests for personal commissions and makes an effort to meet all the animals she paints, to bring out their full character. Her paintings often get great reactions from the live animals. Shannon states, “If I have the body language and spirit painted in a way that horses and donkeys think it is real and try to interact with the paintings, then I know I have caught the essence of who I’ve painted, as they are the best judges!”
