Sheila Kernan's latest collection explores the enduring relationship between art, memory, and the universal allure of the river's edge - a place where people have long gathered to find solace, inspiration, and connection.
There is no doubt that water plays a significant role in our everyday lives, fostering a sense of community and encouraging positive interactions. Saskatchewan's rivers and lakes represent some of North America's most abundant freshwater resources, and their beauty and diversity are truly inspiring. Growing up in Saskatchewan, Sheila spent many hours exploring and enjoying them, and this connection is evident in her work.
Through a new series of captivating works, Kernan's exhibition invites viewers to explore the beauty and power of the water's edge while reflecting on the universal human experiences and shared moments that rivers, and art, can inspire.
