Down This Crazy River, is an exhibition of abstract paintings by Vancouver-based artist, Skai Fowler. Opening Reception: Friday, July 11th, 6-10 pm.
Artist Statement:
"With science, ecology and economics seeming to spin towards chaos, these paintings explore optimism and lightheartedness through the language of abstract form and colour. The act of play and an infusion of humour are central to my painting practice and help to convey hope for the future. For me, these paintings are the best way to represent the exciting yet troubled time that we live in."
Skai Fowler has exhibited her paintings and photographs nationally and internationally since 1987. She graduated from Emily Carr College of Art & Design in photography and interdisciplinary studies. Her work has been collected by the Canada Council Art Bank and Export Development Canada and is in private collections in Vancouver, New York, Budapest, and Glasgow.
