"Surface Scratches and Inscriptions" is an exhibition of new paintings inspired by Fowler's personal connection to the landscape and history of the Badlands of central and southern Alberta. "My grandfather was the first park ranger of Dinosaur Provincial Park and a self-made paleontologist. I spent many winters and summers at the park growing up in that other-worldly environment. My bloodline calls me to come celebrate; to be a part of that land and its history; to dream of its future."
Skai Fowler is a Vancouver based visual artist and has been exhibiting her work since 1987. Skai graduated in photography and interdisciplinary studies from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1985. Her paintings and photographs exhibit nationally and internationally.
