Untouched Beauty
“Remote and inaccessible regions are my interest. I want to photograph unique intimate landscapes and go to locations that are seldom visited exploring the wilderness." - SF
Born in Ottawa, Steven Friedman has been photographing nature for more than three decades. Admiring one of his images, you would never guess that he literally discovered photography during a hike. An economist back then, Steven found a 35mm film camera at a viewpoint while hiking Gatineau National Park. After having the unclaimed camera sit at home for months, Steven bought rolls of film and took the camera with him on a trip the Southwest U.S. The rest is history! Steven certainly has refined his art. A purist, he never edits or retouches any of his images. Steven waits patiently for the right light and conditions to capture the perfect image. Sometimes visiting the same place for a whole week, he knows when he has captured beauty at its best. To view all of Steven's impressive work swing by the gallery or visit our website here.
"What I love is the journey, the hike to that secret place and that spot only I know of." - SF
