TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary’s +15 Project Window in Arts Commons (Formerly the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts).
The Artist in Her Studio explores themes of current digital culture, and the artist’s interaction and participation within the movement. Through materials pulled from both online sources and the artist’s own personal database of texts and images, the Internet becomes an unlimited resource for creation. In a blog-like presentation of these curated snapshots, The Artist in Her Studio discusses the Internet’s influence on the art world today, and the artist’s compulsive participation in it, as a notion of the digital artist stuck inside the digital universe.
Carlin Brown is an emerging artist currently completing her Bachelor of Fine Art at the Alberta College of Art + Design. Her work explores the artist’s connection to traditional media and the introduction of digital technology as an artist’s tool.
