The Winnipeg Sketch Club was first organized in 1914 as the Winnipeg Art Students’ Sketch Club. The purpose of the club was and is to provide artists with an opportunity to sketch from live models. This year marks our 101st Annual Juried Exhibition. Our members work in a variety of media to expressively describe the awe-inspiring beauty of our Canadian landscape, share the joy of watching their children and pets at play, and capture the uniqueness of people that model for them. Without a doubt, regularly practicing the fundamentals of drawing, continues to enhance the ability of our members to communicate their ideas effectively. This year’s exhibit has been juried by local artist Jim Corbett.
