Threads that Bind blurs the boundaries between traditional fabric art, painting, and mixed media. The artwork also maps Haessel's personal journey as a visual artist. Each piece tells a story through its coloration, layering of specific fabrics, and incorporation of found, sometimes hidden, material objects. The art is best understood as an intuitive interpretation of inner feelings, as well as a creative exploration of the world.
