Timothy Wilson Hoey for our O Canada: Alberta Bound
On June 3rd 2017 Lineham House Galleries, located in a 116 year old home built by the founding Lineham family of Okotoks on the back of natural resources that have contributed significantly to the identity of our province, opened its doors at 33 Elma St. Okotoks AB as a new family run business in the growing creative sector of the Alberta arts economy.
This marked a significant turning point for this house, and by extension an important Western Canadian founding family in Alberta’s history. The shift from our resource based history in oil, gas and forestry symbolized by Lineham House to a new direction defined by small business, women in business, emergent sharing economies and Arts and Culture is occurring in tandem with a quickly changing province.
See: https://www.pc.gc.ca/leg/docs/v-g/pm-mp/lhn-nhs/puits-well_e.asp for more information on the importance of the Lineham family to Canada’s commercial oil and gas and the history of our energy economy particularly as it relates John Lineham in Alberta.
Please join us SAT June 4th 11:00 - 5:00 to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with artist Timothy Wilson Hoey
