Artist Bio:
Originally from the West Coast in Victoria, Tresa Gibson moved around most of her childhood, first to Britain and then to Calgary which she now calls home. She runs a successful fast-paced studio in Calgary where she has been a thriving, self-taught artist for over 14 years.
Tresa’s art is an expression of her personal beliefs of optimism and spirituality. Her fiery, energetic personality radiates through her expressive mark-making and bold colour application. Recognized for her unique impressionist style that balances colour and depth, Tresa’s oil paintings have been described as a simultaneous sense of order and chaos. Her inspiration is fuelled by others through the laughter and enthusiasm she pulls from them with her fervent positivity. With this in mind, Tresa is highly dedicated to giving back to the community by participating in a variety of fundraising events.
Tresa’s art can be found in collections throughout the world. Walk into her studio on any given day and there will be paint flying, music playing and an abundance of laughter!
