Bill Boyd uses a unique glazing process, which involves growing zinc-silicate crystals in the glaze at high temperatures is often avoided by other potters because of the difficulties inherent in the process. Boyd’s works radiate the exuberant best of the new traditions in modern ceramics, a category that he refers to tongue-in-cheek as ‘Nouveau-Classique.’
