A group exhibition comprised of 20 textural fibre art pieces relating to the theme of Urban Nature. The exhibit has been prepared by members of Contextural a fibre art cooperative.
Contextural, a community of textile artists fostering a cooperative creative environment, supports the production of new artistic works, and has displayed this particular exhibit in various venues in Western Canada.
Urban nature is not just dedicated space such as public parks but other types of informal green spaces.
Our lives are enhanced by the green seedling skillfully pushing up through cracked concrete, the deer that crosses our path as we negotiate our way to work, the sparkle of the first snowfall, and the drip of the first signs of spring.
