This show brings together a trio of Winnipeg artists to showcase the different “Voyages of Imagination” they undertake as they make their art. Each one provides their own unique vision of the world around them, the world as they want it to be, or bring to life worlds only dreamed of. Together this set of artworks will be a series of portals into the imaginations of the artists, so please join us on this voyage.

Dan Hawksworth‘s “Voyages of Imagination” reflect a lifelong fascination with other worlds and times. Whether they originate from daydreams, spiritualism or popular culture he attempts to bring that sliver of his imagination to life in paintings and drawings. Shaped by years of watching and reading the adventures of mythical heroes across time and space he lets himself dream of the other worlds that he can only visit with his imagination.

John Izzard‘s voyages reflects the abundance and freedom he has to explore the vast reaches and depths of who he is. Respectfully and fearlessly he is moving into the next phase of his life, sharing it through art is the basis for his model of excellence in the visual arts.

Jola Liebzeit’s “Voyages of Imagination” is an exploration of the power images can have in inspiring dreams and goals. She depicts the things that drive and motivate us to pursue our career passions and interests – to follow the life we were meant to lead – using a combination of colour, texture and symbolism. With a unique set of experiences, she has an open-minded perspective about the human spirit and chooses bright colours for her uplifting and motivational paintings.
