To encourage and support the artistic aspirations of young emerging artists in the community, The ACT Art Gallery presents a biannual juried exhibition of works by secondary school students.
The 2024 theme is A Window into the Future, to highlight SD42 students as the next generation of of artists in our community. Secondary students are at a unique stage of life where goals and dreams are put into motion to plan their first steps into young adulthood.
A Window into the Future showcases over fifty artists who were asked to share their interpretations of the theme, exploring their own imaginative creativity, and envisioning their feelings about the future.
Beyond the theme of the exhibition, the student artists were given the freedom to choose their own subject matter, medium, creative process, and size of their artwork. As a result, the exhibition includes a wide range of mediums, including painting, drawing, digital illustration, ceramics, and mixed media.
