Returning to the general theme of "perspective" deployed in the previous exhibition LINEs OF FLIGHT: from above, the subterranean approach calls upon connections that are concealed from prying eyes and therefore unfolding within the unconscious. Whereas land examined from areal perspectives immediately gives rise to the spectre of surveillance, underneath the surface we find microcosms, unexpected channels, hidden materials, and points of contact.
Saskatchewan-based artists WL Altman and Jessica Morgun will experiment and develop their underground work during a two-week production residency period at PAVED Arts, prior to the opening of LINEs OF FLIGHT: subterranean.
