Willock & Sax Gallery is dedicated to furthering the intellectual and visual dialogue of committed contemporary artists and upholding the aesthetic message of historical artists, representing several generations of recognized artists working in a variety of media. They carry work by mainly Western Canadian contemporary and historic artists, who enjoy international, national, and regional reputations. Daily 10 am – 6 pm.
REPRESENTING:
contemporary artists like Peter von Tiesenhausen, Allan Harding MacKay, Robert Sinclair, Ed Bamiling, Barb Tipton, Les Graff and D. Helen Mackie.
And historical works, such as those of Luke Lindoe, John Chalke, Illingworth Kerr, Douglas Haynes, W.J. Phillips, George Weber, John Snow, and Margaret Shelton.
Along with an interesting selection of Cape Dorset sculpture and drawings from such artists as Toonoo Sharky, Pootoogook Jaw, Niviaqsi Pitseolak, Axangayuk Shaa, Kellipalik Qimirpik, Jutai Toonoo, Napachie Pootoogook, Kavavaow Mannomee and other senior and mid-career artists.
