Vancouver artist Holger Kalberg explores the relationship between utopian ideas and modernist aesthetics in recent paintings, sculptures and installations. His work has a sense of failed reality – a nostalgia for a utopian world that may or may not materialize – and becomes a starting point for new conversations about ideal societies.
