Applications Open for Salt Spring Art Prize

The Salt Spring National Art Prize, 2021/2022
Applications are open for the Salt Spring National Art Prize, which offers $41,000 in awards to Canadian artists.
The 10 awards include a first prize of $15,000 and a $5,000 artist residency on Salt Spring Island, as well as jurors' choice and people's choice awards.
The contest recognizes Canadian visual artists whose work demonstrates originality, quality, integrity and creativity.
A live exhibition by some 50 finalists is planned for September.
The call to artists, which opened Jan. 1, continues until May 31.
This year's jury includes Judy Anderson, a University of Calgary professor; David Diviney, senior curator at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia; Ydessa Hendeles, director of the Ydessa Hendeles Art Foundation in Toronto; and Michelle Jacques, chief curator at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, and incoming chief curator at the Remai Modern in Saskatoon.
