B.C. Sculptor Honoured as Living Legend

Lynn Branson, "Haven," sculpture of young barn owls carved from a maple burl
B.C. wood sculptor Lynn Branson is being honoured by the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art in Salisbury, Maryland, with one of this year's three Ward Foundation Living Legends Awards.
The award recognizes longtime advocates for wildfowl art who are generous in teaching others and have created an impact on wildfowl art.
Branson, who lives in Courtenay on Vancouver Island, finds inspiration in the line, form and shape in the wood she uses in her projects.
She has exhibited internationally and earned various awards, including Best in World Interpretive at the 2010 Ward World Championship.
She won Best in World Interpretive again in 2012, 2013 and 2017. She placed third in World Interpretive in 2014, 2015 and 2018. She remains the only female to hold the title of Ward World Champion.
