Brit Bachmann to Head Vancouver's UNIT/PITT Projects

Brit Bachmann is the new executive director of UNIT/PITT Projects in Vancouver. 

Bachmann is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer whose practice includes ceramics, playwriting and radio art. She has a history of community organizing and reinvigorating arts organizations, instigating critical public dialogue and working with diverse and emerging artists and writers.

Bachmann is the outgoing communications coordinator for the Capture Photography Festival and the communications and marketing assistant at Cinematheque.

Bachmann is known for her work as the editor of Discorder Magazine (CiTR 101.9FM) from 2015 to 2018, shifting its focus from music to community activism, social justice, creative writing and visual art. 

Bachmann replaces Kay Higgins as executive director, a position she has held since 2010.
